Accessibility

How we make this site work for everyone, what still needs work, and how to tell us about a problem.

A site everyone can use

Yuba Tree Pros wants everyone to be able to find help with a tree on this site, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, or voice control. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

How the site is built

We check the site against those guidelines as we build it, page by page. Here’s what that covers today.

The home page photos change on their own. Pointing at the slide controls pauses them, and they stay still if your device is set to reduce motion.

Built in

  • Colour contrast checked to WCAG AA
  • Everything works with a keyboard
  • A visible focus ring on every control
  • Text descriptions on meaningful photos
  • Labelled form fields, errors in words
  • Pages reflow for small screens and big text

What we know isn’t perfect

The service-area map is a picture of the area, and it isn’t fully usable with a screen reader. Every town on it is also a text link.

You’ll find the same towns listed beside the map on the service areas page and in the footer of every page.

Some pages link to government sites and other outside pages we don’t control, which may not meet the same standard.

Found a problem? Let us know

If something on the site is hard to use, or you need information in another way, we want to hear about it.

Use the contact page and tell us which page and what happened. We’ll work to fix it, and get you the information you need in the meantime.
