Terms of Use

How this free referral service works, what we do and don’t do, and the few rules for using the site.

What this site is

Yuba Tree Pros is a free referral service for homeowners in Sutter and Yuba counties. When you call the number on this site or send a request, our licensed local partner, an independent tree company, takes it from there. By using the site, you’re agreeing to these terms.

We’re not a contractor. We don’t remove, trim, or grind trees, look at them, or give prices. The tree company is an independent business, not our employee or agent.

In short

  • Our licensed partner does the work
  • They see the tree and quote it
  • You decide whether to hire them
  • You pay them, never us

Your agreement is with our partner

Any visit, quote, contract, schedule, and payment is between you and our partner. You pay them directly. We don’t negotiate on your behalf, and we can’t promise they’ll be free on a certain day, take on every job, or charge a particular price.

The tree company is responsible for its work, its crew, its insurance, and any permits the job needs. If something goes wrong with the work, take it up with them directly.

Check their licence yourself

We check the tree company’s California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) licence before passing on any request, and we show their name and licence number on this site once the phone line opens. We’d still encourage you to look it up yourself before any work starts.

It takes a minute on the CSLB licence lookup. The CSLB also handles complaints about licensed contractors.

Free for homeowners

Calling and sending a request cost you nothing, and you’re never obliged to hire anyone. The tree company may pay us a fee for each call or request we send them. That’s between us and them, and you never pay us.

Information on this site

Our guides, town pages, and answers are general information to help you get started, not professional advice. Rules on street trees, permits, levees, and power lines change, and every tree is different.

Check with the city, county, or agency we link to, and ask the tree company once they’ve seen the tree.

In an emergency, like a tree on a power line or someone hurt, stay well back and call 911. For downed lines, call PG&E as well.

Using the site

Use the site the way it’s meant to be used, and it works for everyone.

Please

  • Send true details about you and your job
  • Only ask about property you can decide on
  • No spam or sales pitches through the forms
  • No automated scraping or overloading

Our content and other sites

The text, design, and logo on this site belong to Yuba Tree Pros. Photos are used under their licences and credited where the licence asks.

We link to government pages, maps, and other sites to help you. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for what they say.

Limits on our responsibility

The site is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we can’t promise it will always be complete, current, or available.

To the extent the law allows, Yuba Tree Pros isn’t liable for the tree company’s work, advice, prices, delays, or damage, or for any loss that comes from relying on information on this site. Nothing here takes away rights you have under California law that can’t be waived.

California law, changes, and contact

These terms are governed by California law. We may update them from time to time; the date in the sidebar shows when they last changed, and the version on this page is the one that applies.

Questions about these terms? Use the contact page. For how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy.
